Whether you’re a new parent or already have children, you’ll probably agree that moving around with a toddler can be a challenge. That’s why, by popular demand, we’re launching our child seat pilot program.

Running from now until the end of summer 2023, members can book a Modo equipped with a child seat for extra convenience and accessibility.

Using A Child Seat With Modo

At the start of your booking, you can expect to find the Modo child seat either on the rear passenger seats or in the trunk.

Because we know your little ones are growing fast, our child seat model is flexible and can be used by kids from one to six years old. Depending on the height and weight of your child, you may place the child seat front facing or back facing. Please refer to the instructions on the side of the child seat to know if you should use it front-facing or rear-facing. In both cases, never place the child seat on the front seats.

Note that Modo members are responsible for safely and properly installing the child seat and ensuring their children’s safety. Make sure to look at our video for best practices and read the official child seat manual available in the glove box for full instructions. Can’t find the manual in the glove box? Open the online version or check the extra copy in the spare tire compartment.

Installing The Child Seat

The child seat and attachments are the property of Modo. Please leave the child seat and attachments in the car when returning the vehicle to its home location at the end of your booking, or you’ll risk replacement costs.

Front-facing installation

  • Place the child seat in the back seat of the vehicle.
  • Secure the car seat using the anchor and tether system, carefully following the child seat instructions.
  • Ensure that the child seat is tightly secured to the vehicle and does not move in any direction.

Rear-facing installation

If you have to use the child seat in a rear-facing setting, you’ll need the extra attachment (called anti-rebound bar) located in the spare tire compartment. Make sure you place it back in the compartment at the end of your booking.

  • Install the anti-rebound bar,
  • Place the child seat in the back seat of the vehicle,
  • Secure the car seat using the anchor and tether system, carefully following the manufacturer’s instructions,
  • Ensure that the child seat is tightly secured to the vehicle and does not move in any direction.
