A collaboration between Modo and TransLink has added nine new vehicles at six SkyTrain stations in Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam and New West.
Transportation needs are growing across the Lower Mainland. TransLink, like Modo, has been working hard to meet these increasing demands through expansion projects like the Evergreen Line. This new initiative will add more Modo carsharing vehicles right in the SkyTrain parking lots.
“With affordability and convenience topping the list of reasons our members use us, having cars available right at the SkyTrain where people’s trips start and end makes a lot of sense,” says Modo CEO Patrick Nangle.
SkyTrain stations are natural transportation hubs which makes the addition of Modo very fitting. Having shared vehicles in a centralized location maximizes the effect they can have in a neighbourhood—SkyTrain handles the daily commute and Modo takes care of the rest.

Many of our members use transit and Modo. Check out Modo Ambassador Alicia’s favourite hiking trails, not easily accessible by transit.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers who use carsharing to connect with transit, and these stalls are just steps away from the fare gates. Having carsharing at our stations is a great way to support a car-free or ‘car-lite’ lifestyle, using transit, walking, cycling and having access to a car when needed.” – Kevin Desmond, TransLink CEO.
