Lost & Found

Using a shared car requires that members do not leave anything in the vehicle after their use. This includes personal items, clothing, mugs, cables, adapters and even navigational devices. Although we regularly clean vehicles, it’s expected that members will also remove all unwanted garbage.

Finding an expensive SLR camera tucked under a seat 3 months after it was lost is not the usual find. Luckily our Modo service team investigating why a seat would not push back discovered this was the obstruction. Clever sleuthing was needed after starting up the camera – checking date and time of the last images taken and tracking back which member was using the car at that date. Luckily the camera was reunited with its owner. Sadly many lost items are never claimed and are thus discarded.

Here’s what you can do:

  • If you find an item that’s been left behind by another member, put it in the glovebox out of sight, if possible and call our team, so we can make a note and check with the previous members. If an item is too big or valuable to store in the glovebox, please let us know!
  • If you have left an item in a Modo yourself, please call our team with your booking number and we will make sure that you can either 1) access the vehicle with a free “Lost & Found” booking to retrieve the item or 2) Pick up your lost item in the Modo office in Vancouver or Victoria, if it has been stored there.
