3 October Hikes In and Around Vancouver
Walter is a familiar face at Modo events, donating much of his time to help our volunteer team spread the word about carsharing at events around the region.
He’s also an avid hiker and, inspired by our previous hiking post, wanted to share some his favourite October hikes in the Metro Vancouver area as part of our #LetsModo series.
Fort-to-Fort Trail and Fort Langley
A delightful place to spend a nice October day (or two)! Take a nice rural hike along the Fraser on the Fort-to-Fort Trail. I recommend going as far as Derby Reach Park, but you may prefer to turn back sooner. The restored Fort Langley is worth a visit, as is a stroll along Glover Road in town.
Eagle Bluffs Cypress Park
Wait for a gorgeous sunny day in October and head for Cypress Bowl to take on this challenging climb up Black Mountain. The view from the bluffs is breathtaking.
Pacific Spirit Regional Park
A little closer to home for some, Pacific Spirit is one of Vancouver’s walking park gems. There are loads of easy trails with numerous access points for your Modo vehicle. Check out the detailed trail maps on the Metro Vancouver website, or grab a copy at the park’s main entrances at Chancellor Boulevard or 16th Avenue. The paths just north of Chancellor is great for views and kicking your way through autumn leaves.
Thanks for great tips, Walter!
